BCBS of Michigan is fighting that the law be put in to place, claiming financial disaster if it isn't. They project losing $264 million if it is not, states the Chicago Tribune.
But there's only a month left in the Michigan state legislative session, and BCBS isn't convincing anyone that there's an immediate crisis.
Michigan Attorney General, Mike Cox, is a critic of the law, stating it might not be the best thing right now. He doesn't seem to feel that there is anything crucial that would not be avoidable.
Cox feels that whether there is a problem or not, it can be stalled until next year's session. Cox says, "There's no reason this can't be done in February or March or April, and done the right way." So it is not looking good for BCBS. - 15224
