Florida Teen Auto Insurance -- Safety And Cheaper Rates

By Chimezirim Odimba

Florida Car insurance carriers regard teen drivers as the worst risks as far as age groups are concerned. They are known to have more crashes than every other age group combined and many parents will prefer that they NOT drive. Most parents can only succeed in holding them off for only a short period.

It could be very depressing for a teen to be the only one among peers who is yet to start driving. So what can you do to both ensure your teen driver safer and bring down the usually high car insurance rates they get? Here are ways you can do it in Florida or anywhere else...

It's normal for your teen to demand privileges that come with adulthood while they avoid the attendant responsibilities. However, if you want to help your teenager really grow up, let them know that with every privilege come some responsibilities.

It's a good idea to make than bear the cost of their auto insurance or at least a good part of it. It's my discovery that once young persons pay for something with their hard-earned cash, they end up being more careful with it.

Here are a few rules that will keep your teenager safer...

1) Let them never drive in company of fellow teens or kids unless there is a responsible adult in the car.

2) Let there be an agreement between you and your teenager that they won't drive in the night. If this isn't feasible in your teen's circumstance, teach them what to do and how to conduct themselves in that situation.

Reports show that accidents happen more between the hours of 9.00pm and 2.00am.

3) Let them know the dangers of driving after drinking and have them promise never to drive after drinking. Err on the side of safety and insist that they do not drive after as little as a sip of alcohol.

4) Let your teen know that they shouldn't race on the highway and let them know the risk they run if they do.

Make sure they are grounded if they ever get a speeding ticket.

5) You must always be told where they intend to drive to. If you feel it's not in their best interest, advise them to use a cab instead.

Yes, these may not work in homes where the parents and teens don't have a good relationship already. While you're doing those or even if you find them difficult to implement in your case, here's how any teen can get lower auto insurance rates: Get and compare quotes from five or more reputable quotes sites. - 15224
